What is the best way to get to Innsbruck?

Igls is located 870m above sea level, at the foot of Patscherkofel, just seven kilometres from the provincial capital of Innsbruck. Guests can arrive by car or by train and bus.

From the Inntal motorway A12 follow exit Innsbruck Mitte – continue towards Igls – through Vill to the village of Igls, continue to Patsch to the Patscherkofelbahn valley station.

From Brenner/Italy A13, follow the motorway exit Patsch – continue via Patsch to the Patscherkofelbahn valley station.

Line J (IVB buses) runs from Mon. to Fri. at 10-minute intervals and on Sat., Sun. and on bank holidays at 15-minute intervals from Innsbruck directly to the valley stationat the bottom of Patscherkofel.  Click here for timetable information

Parking

Next to the Valley Station of the Patscherkofelbahn, there are a pay and display car park.
Daily charge: € 6.00
Payable daily from 00.00 to 24.00.

Patscherkofel lift guests will receive a refund of the charge at the time a mountain lift ticket is purchased.
Please display the upper section of the parking ticket in a clearly visible position on the dashboard and then use the lower section of the parking ticket for the refund at the Patscherkofel lift ticket office or in "Das Hausberg" restaurant.

Free parking ticket
Guests with a valid ticket (season or annual ticket for the Patscherkofel lift, Freizeitticket Tirol, Snow Card Tirol) can obtain a free parking ticket from the parking machine during cable car operation hours.

Press the first button (SKITICKET) on the ticket machine, hold your ticket against the orange field and your free parking ticket will be printed. Display the parking ticket in a clearly visible position on the dashboard.

Throughout the year and outside cable car operating times, a parking charge is payble.
Vehicles may only be parked with a valid parking ticket.
Failure to comply will result in a fine of € 25 which must be paid within 14 days. In the event of non-payment,  a trespass or injunction order will be applied for.
