Eagle Walk
Route Description

„Take a Walk along the Eagle’s Wings!

Enjoy an eagle’s perspective of Tirol’s most beautiful Alpine scenery. As the eagle flies, the Eagle Walk runs through Tirol – the whole length of the country, from east to west. The Eagle Walk is steep in some places, gentle in others, and rugged in most. Novice and expert alike will enjoy the varied terrain of the trail as it passes through the heart of the Alps; however, many stages should only be attempted by those who are sure footed and comfortable on unstable ground. The 320-kilometer trail runs from the Kaiser Mountain Range to Arlberg, comprised of 24 stages with a total elevation gain of 23,000 meters and a total elevation loss of 20,000 meters.

In East Tirol, avid hikers can take up the challenge of a shorter Eagle Walk, overshadowed by the lofty peaks of Großglockner and Großvenediger: With its 93-kilometer footpath, nine stages, and an elevation gain and loss of some 8,000 meters each, it offers endless hiking opportunities and stunning views!“

The Patscherkofel is situated on stage 13.
